Blogs in Education

I think blogging is a powerful way to create new concepts, ideas and knowledge not only for our students but also anyone – parents and peers teachers- who read and share information and opinions in blogs.

Generally, I use my class blog to engage my students in class to learn new things about technological topics such a Netiquette, new technologies, devices and class content. For me, this “tech tool”, increase the chance that students can learn about several issues of  the information that teacher give them and the ideas or discussions that your classmates do.

Also, I consider that it could be more interesting and meaningful activity if we get that parents interact in an active way on that; maybe doing comments about what your kids say or giving their own point of view about one topic assigned.

Finally, blogs are something which allow as a teachers learning about each other, to share knowledge, comments, projects and to build new ideas and perceptions related to an specific topic. I strongly believe in that a great blog, well organized and with very interesting information, it become itself  a wonderful resource for teacher, students to work in class and out of class with the community.
